Crabbing@Mandurah
December 29, 2005
Yay! I’ve got internet again, but it’s of course a torturous 56k, how I wish I was back on cable.
Ok lets retract. On Boxing Day, me and my parents set off to do some errands, the plan was, if we could find crabbing scoops, we’ll go crabbing in the evening. Well, we did.
We headed to Fremantle to pick up the other car of clipper crew, Mervyn was kind enough to join us and lead the way to Mandurah. It was a horrid evening to go crabbing, the wind was blowing, water choppy, and not to mention the weird weather Perth has been receiving, it sure felt like an autumn night.
We headed into the estuary, caught about 20 crabs, and a lot were undersized. The minute we got out, the fisheries authority came out of their hiding place behind the bushes to fine us. 200 bucks!?! Man, even writing about this makes me angry!? Well they confiscated our whole loot, and we were left with ZERO crabs! I was close to tears, I’ve been driving for 1 1/2 hours to get to Freo and Mandurah, then out in the freezing water for 1 1/2 hours to catch pathetic crabs, and now you’re telling me I have no crabs and another 1hour drive back! Then again, we should have been more diligent about measuring those little rascals.
CRAP!
And what got me irritated were the stupid questions the fisheries officer was asking me. I know it’s their job to confirm identity by comparing my answers with my driver’s license. But there I was freezing from the water and wind, and he asked for my name at least 3 times within 20mins! I mean, come on! How different do I look from my driver’s license photo!
I watched Narnia last night with Mervyn at Garden City! If you were a kid watching this movie, you’d probably think it’s such a cool action, fantasy movie. But I guess the “older kids” like me would see the many Christian connotations in the movie, interesting watch, well worth it. After the movie, we went to Oriels to meet Phillips! My philipo is attached! Told you it was the haircut HAhahaha.
I had a great time last night catching up Phillips and Mervyn, and honestly I can’t wait to see them again this NYE.
Babe! Shame we both won’t be at the Hyatt again this new years eve. Wasn’t that just SO weird? Arg!
