Illy… oh illy!
February 8, 2006
I truly believe that illy is one of the best coffee in the world, maybe second to Merchant Coffee Espresso beans. It’s 100% Arabica, and packaged in a pressurised can to maintain freshness.?The can opens like a can or fruit cocktail, the minute you puncture a hole… ‘WHoooooOOooooshhhhhhh’ this jet of compressed air shoots out of the can, bursting with the?aroma of illy coffee. I wish i could open a can of coffee EVERYDAY!

I’m not sure if you’ve tried but my favorite is still Indonesian “Kapal Api”. Strong smell, which is very addicted :p

Heyya angela,
I’ve heard from my dad whose gone coffee mad lately, that Illy does indeed make good beans. However, for the best coffee effect, u’ve gotta consume them within 24hrs, otherwise their aroma dissipates. The aroma is kept “in check” by nitrogen (that woosh that u hear when u open the can), so once it’s opened, it starts to lose its aroma.
Hope this helps;)
Will go check out merchant coffee once i’m back in perth.
have fun!

Hey there… i miss the coffees that I was drinking your place. I still get Illy at home but the preparation is different so the taste is different too (may be just slight)… but Illy’s still the best.

yeh… It’s a pity for them but unplanned holidays at Subic Bay seem rather welcoming. As far as I know, the beaches in Philippines will be occupied by the clipper crew - for those who opt not to return home. I’m looking forward to hear stories from your dad. Well if we don’t have time to meet up for any crew parties… perhaps you could write them in your blog….hehehe
