Bukit Timah with the ickle-pocketrocket and the Android
February 12, 2006

Been going to Bukit Timah?on the?weekends with Wayne, and finally… the Orangela has been Bukitimised! The works - mud, dirt, grease, water, sand, leaves, insects. Please note this is the one and only time i’ll use the name Orangela.. my BIKE HAS no name, and even if it did, it ain’t going to be Orangela wayne!!!!
Big thanks to Wayne, who chose to start me off?on a hard route! YOU CRAZY NUT! Should have taken me to something easy first like Mandai or something…but nooooo….he threw straight into the massive downhills and uphills. Janice gave me alot of pointers, like how to tackle the slopes without killing myself, and giving me a easy line to follow. And today, ‘the droid’ teaching me how to go over roots, and uphills. Joshua, for his patience, understanding and for letting us use his red “ferrari”(van) as bike-taxi.
Honestly, i got into mountain biking for 2 reason, to get in shape, and share Wayne’s love for this hobby, never realised i actually could have so much fun with it too. And you’re right, you ALL have created a MONSTER! MUAHahahHAhaha??
Had a great saturday?morning ride with Wayne, Janice and Andrew. New scratches and bruises, but who cares, i’ve always been a bit of a tomboy, proud of those ‘battlescars’. After the ride, we headed down to Ghim Moh Hawker Centre for some grub. porraige for me and wayne had a Thosai, plus a plate of carrot cake to share. So weird how we eat so much more after exercise.
Biking again tomorrow morning!
You mad hat! I love it! I got thrown in the deep end too…. But I don’t think I did HALF as good as how you’re doing. Yay!

Oh no! Yeah I’m having shoe trouble as well… My road shoes aren’t panning out but I’ve already commited the funds to the shop, so I reckon I’m going to use it to improve my mtb ride instead. New shifters etc perhaps.. Yay for the bladder though!! You need to get you some gloves!! I wanted to get you some the other day.. Hehe. But I’ve got to get some for me too, and some for my friend Pei Ling coz I ripped a hole in a pair of her’s during the Adventure Race. Yikes! Very impt, coz if you ever crash, you’re going to tear up your hands pretty bad without them… (eg. Andrew stacked it the other day and he tore a hole in his gloves. Can you imagine if he wasn’t wearing any!)
Meanwhile.. jedi janice I am not! :p

Yes Janice. Pls tell her about the gloves man. She did pretty well on Sunday too and soon will definately over take me… I kept the pace up and there she was. Even on the downhills when i’m just dropping in, all i need to do is look over my shoulder and low-and-behold there she is directly behind me.
