Wayne finally built enough courage to go for interlace intralace Lasik next week. This coming from a guy who squirms at operations and needles. No more the four-eyed-Wayne-the-Walrus.He’ll be doing the procedure at Tan Tock Seng Hospital with a Dr Lee Hung Ming. Wish him luck!

;D It’s IntraLASE. Just that. Because by that, it is already known that it is a type of LASIK procedure.
Wayne will whisk thru’ the op. Easily.
May I know did Wayne opt for IntraLASE or does his eyes require it that Dr Lee recommended it? Afterall, it is the most expensive LASIK procedure amongst the varied types of LASIK. So, in the patient’s interests, it is usually only recommended when there are complications such ultra thin cornea.
I had Epi-LASIK, done at Optimax JB last year July. But due to complications that my astigmatism is at the lens layer, not the cornea layer, I still need glasses for anything that is beyond 1.5 m for clear vision. Going for enhancement in this coming June.

It will go all fine! Good luck to him!
I still can’t find the courage to do so.

Hi Hi this reply is on behalf of Angela:
Dametrius: It was my choice to do it, cos i do not trust manual cutting of the cornea. It is more expensive, yes, but for my sake of mind and the fear of sharp objects, i chose it as the success rate was almost 99% (plus its better to let the lazer do everything then to have sharp odjects or what not get in the way).
There is infact a more expensive one called Wavefront or something but its not cos its a better procedure but cos its patient dependent (complications or what not).
My only gripe would probably be that i will not be able to bike for a month.

Hi Wayne, great to hear from you! ;D
When I was researching on the various flavours of LASIK, I too wanted IntraLASE but the high cost vis-a-vis LASIK prove to be very prohibitive.
May I know how much is Eye Institute charging for their IntraLASE expertise?
PS: Heh, I guess your job pays pretty well huh?
The more expensive procedure you referred to is CUSTOM LASIK. Yea, I’m getting CUSTOM LASIK for my enhancement. Gonna ditch my glasses for good even though I look better with glasses. Not that I did LASIK for asthetics reasons.
Oh and post-op eye care is very, very important! Regular application of lubricant eye-drops and
No late nights,
No staring at computer screens, small fonts documents for extended period of time - this might cause slight deterioration of clear vision to slight myopia or even astigmatism.
No rubbing of eyes
No sleeping face down that creates pressure on eyes - This happened to my friend.
Biking can wait; Bukit Timah trail will still welcome your return to turtle on it while Orangela goes RoadRunner beep! beep!.

Been so long since I popped by. Eep! Sending my good vibes over your way! Sure the procedure will go well for Wayne. Someday I hope to get this (or something similar) to my eyes. I’m practically blind! I need some of that laser action! O_o Can’t wait to hear about the positive post-op results!
