Bike Woes :(
April 1, 2006

Today, after what felt like 2 months (but actually was 2 weeks), we went to Bukit Timah for a “long” short cycle. A short route but we just took the longest time ever to get back to the carpark. Today’s mob: Angela, Wayne, Janice?minus the other half, Joshua, Hansel, Derrek and Terrence. Was Hansel’s virgin BT ride, so we took things easy, plus we all got pretty punctured… ironically, we did get a puncture. Hansel had a nail right through his tyre, and just a while later, Joshua’s chain snapped!!
Was not meant to be i tell you.
I had trouble with my gears, and i didn’t want to complain too much, coz i just wanted to go go go! The last 2 weeks, i already noticed that my gears were not engaging properly, and today, the chain kept coming out completely, especially on my climbs dammit! Only when we took a closer look, we realised, that my chain was on the verge of snapping too! (as pictured)?
I have no idea how that happened, but it was the cause of all my problems. Apparently it’s been broken for awhile… Well you know you’ve pushed it and call it biking when your chain snaps man..Rwooaaarrrrrrr….the animal is loose!! TOmorrOW! Again AGAIN!

Heyhey!
I just remembered abt your blog, so I came to visit! Didn’t realise I’ve missed so much! Read ur entry about the indonesian restaurant- that restaurant is such a rip off! They’ve effectively charged >$20 more by way of towelettes, nuts, service charge, cess. Add the exhorbitantly priced lime juice to that and its almost $40 more!! that’s like half the bill!!
SO OUTRAGEOUS!

Whoa!! Hold ur horses!! haha…U guys must be riding hard all the time
In terms of punctures, I’ve been using StanNoTube (heard of this wayne?) for quite a few months now, and have not had a puncture/pinch flat since. First installation is a bit tricky tho.
Going for a ride in Bukit Gambir (behind my house…haha) tomorrow morning.
Happy trails!

Good to hear you’re enjoying biking, I did that for awhile, but have sold my bike since, and contemplating going back to rollerblading. Good luck with the ride and tricky bike parts!
