Hey Angela,
U could try this Simple Sponge Cake recipe for ur sister: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/simple-sponge-cake/detail.aspx
U can bake 2 and sandwich it, with jam+strawberries in between…
It’s too easy and too low in fat to resist!
Works so easy with a whisk! gd luck!
love Amelia

Janice: the one that was a cardboard with smarties was my first time baking her a cake.
chocolate one, and it was so bad, when it was time to cut the cake, she struggled to put the knife through…and when she lifted the knife, the whole cake was lifted along with it.
Amelia: thanks….
will try

haha that sounds so familiar! When I was alot younger, I tried baking the same chocolate cake from scratch for 3 successive family birthdays and all three times, the cake tasted dry, never rose and was rock-hard. I still can’t figure out what i did wrong.
haiyoh
Soon after, i discovered betty crocker’s instant cake mixes, and I haven’t looked back since. haha

Oh no! Was it hollow and harder than stale biscuit too?!?!
I baked for my ex-boyfriend at uni and that was the outcome. I didn’t even know till we tried to cut it coz I’d covered it in chocolate. FAIL.
