Kitchen Paraphernalia

January 22, 2007

I love calling my kitchen appliances and tools, paraphernalia, it sounds like a medical condition. It definately feels like it is, cause i get into this frenzy and start hyperventilating when i have a new toy to play with in the kitchen.

Latest cause for delirium?
THE ARTISANĀ® SERIES KITCHENAID STAND MIXER

Look at all these puurrrtttyyy colouurrsss….

Mummy & Auntie Wendy went out to get one yesterday after they decided it was time for the 20yr old one to retire. RIP my friend. HELLO KITCHENAID!

Oh i love the stainless steel on white, the smooth curved surfaces, the flexibility of using different attachments on the same machine.

  • Food Grinder
  • Fruit & Vegetable strainer
  • Grain Mill
  • Ice Cream Maker
  • Pasta Maker

    1. cute…how lucky are ya? a couple of years ago there was a really great retro pink one that i had the hots for - i don’t even have the counter/storage space for that now, sadly. enjoy!

    2. pei: heyaaa, actually they still sell the pink ones. It’s a special edition piece, with some proceeds going to breast cancer research. I quite liked the pink one too! But i don’t think they have stock in Singapore.

Only Tangs carry KitchenAid. Alternatively, you can go to their distributor at Changi.

I must admit though, it’s quite heavy. I don’t think it’s advisable to store it on a shelf.

    4. How very stepford wives!! Any idea how much one of these babies cost? I seriously need one of these. The last time i made tiramisu, I had to beat the mixture with a fork. had a helllava aching arm after.

    5. wait… did i just see ice cream maker? pasta maker? SAUSAGE STUFFER…!! i waaant!!

      Comment by Bernice — January 23, 2007 @ 12:19 am

    6. IwantaTibike: yeah it’s so clean and white, fresh out of the box. But if i don’t use it, that’s the biggest injustice to the machine and its capabilities. Got to work it hard for every buck it cost.

Bernice: a FORK! omg.. if you had said a whisk, that isn’t so bad… a FORK!!! you poor pooor girl!! This baby will set you back quite a bit. maybe ard $600 depending if there’s any sale on.

i reckon the sausage stuffer is the most interesting one. i always see it on tv, and it looks pretty fun!

I think there were a coupla of Michelles in our year. I think the only mutual person we might have known was Tze Wei. To be honest, most of me memories of UWC are rather vague!
