I came across this site recently, and i had to share with you all.

Photo Essay on Chernobyl
Technology wise, it’s a powerful way of getting your message across. It’s clean and simple, and most importantly, i think the audio narration made it very personal you can’t help but feel connected with every picture on the slideshow. If you have the time, do check it out.

Denzel: I couldn’t agree more. ANd its one thing about testing it, but you should know when to pull the plug. How could they have pushed the limit on something so important as this…. its terrible..

The Chernobyl Exclusion Zone is a fascinating place to visit.
I visited the area for two days in June 2006 with a former resident of Pripyat.
We toured the Chernobyl Plant (including the Reactor 4 control room),
several of the abandoned villages, and Pripyat. I have posted a photo journal
of my trip at:

You know something … as I go deeper in my research, i feel like i want to do research on information sharing in humanitarian relief … rather than in library sciences.
Closer to our home, a product of WMD by the State is Agent Orange, check out this site http://www.vn-agentorange.org/

MarkR: When you were there. Are they in the process of building a stadium that cost about 700+ milling USD to contain the site?

Denzel,
When I was there, they were still in the process of stabilizing the existing cover called the Sarcophagus. Once that process is complete (they should either be done or very close to being done), construction should start on the new “Shelter Object”. The new structure is not really a stadium, but is a domed structure that will be built a short distance away from the reactor and then rolled into place when it is complete. It will cover the existing Sarcophagus and is designed to last for about 100 years. I am not sure what the current cost estimate is, but is definitely in the hundreds of millions of dollars.
