Breakfast at Ghim Moh

May 21, 2007

Wayne’s on leave today, so we had breakfast together at Ghim Moh Market Hawker Centre. Smsed Janice, but she already left for breakfast at Raffles Place, oh well, next time.

2 Set A’s
2 soft boil eggs + Kaya Toast + Kopi
2 soft boil eggs + Kaya Toast + Hot milk

Kaya toast, a traditional breakfast dish. Kaya is a sweet coconut and egg jam, and this is spread over toasted bread. Combined with a cup of local coffee and a half-boiled egg, this makes a typical Singaporean breakfast.

I can really get used to this…

Something to note: Wayne is ALOT less of a Grumpaloffagus in the morning if he is fed breakfast, good to know…good to know.

  8. Kristin: i had that exact same experience recently when my mum tried to help by cutting may fringe, unforunately she cut it above my eyebrows (which is quite short) bless her…. so i had to clip it up for months

ginA: do do tofu? i know theres a do do stall there.. never tried it before…

debbs: im craving for it tomorrow again!!!!!

priscilla: WHAT really???? i thought oriental markets nowadays are quite affordable? ..hmmm….. its too much work to make it yourself….

  9. Arghhh… Teaspoon left in the cup! (It drives me crazy…)

P.S. I like the way your fringe looked in the picture! They have these nifty brushes (in Japan) with holes on top for blow-drying your fringe to the side.

  11. angela… you know that indo mee brand mee goreng that they sell at safeway for 20 aussie cents well it’s 30 pence here. plus 6 frozen char siu baos is 2.50 pounds =( most of the time the numerical value of asian groceries are the same in australia… but in pounds so purchase can be painful. asian groceries are definitely cheaper when you can find it in tesco/sainburys (like safeway, cold storage etc) but if you have to rely on asian grocery store, good luck

  12. Fenix: Heyaaa how have you been, been awhile since you blogged…. always loved your funky fashion sense.

every morning i have to blow dry my fringe, coz the natural growth splits it in the middle….

michie: yeshhhh, wayne had the hot milk hAHhahaha…. cups of coffee?? at least one, but it cane go up to 4 on a bad day ahahhaahha…. especially if its merchant coffeee… i LOVE MERCHant coffee…

priscilla: WHAT 2:50 for 6 frozen char siu paos!!! ok, that’s quite pricey. I miss tesco, when i was on holiday there recently, we always packed sandwiches, so its always roast chicken, salad, cornish pasties and chips from tesco….

    i miss england!
