I may not be a Queen of the hill in Penang Jamboree, or Bukit Queen…but Princess can?

Check out this “Garang” picture taken by Rohan during last sunday’s race. Love my Adidas top as well, it was padded, so no bra (the twins were let loose to breath!) and the colour matched my bike! Not forgetting they were the apparel sponsors for the Battle @ Bukit Timah race!

Fwaaaarrr…. thanks to all the photographers at the race, without them, i would never get these kind of shots ever. Post race post coming up!

Denise’s last day

It’s always sad to see an intern leave, especially when they are nothing but the best interns you could ever have. Denise has been helping us out with a project, and we’re sad to see her leave.

Bike Porn

My stickers are finally done! Which means… my BIKE is finally done!I waited sooooooooo long for sticker guy XX to get it done, i eventually went back to Johnny.

I went to sticker guy XX because he gave me the impression he could do the same sticker in vinyl (which keeps longer), but he has taken MONTHS to get it done, plus the first round was the wrong size and color!

I LOVE MY BIKE!

Shiva in da haus!

Our colleagues from ICON Sydney was here for a work trip, and today was unfortunately his last day here in Singapore. He gave us a short brief of the sydney office, and we had a quiz on Australia after. Check out our score sheet! I tried to draw out the answers… and i say try ok!!

We went to Banana Leaf Apolo for lunch and i totally forgot to take any pictures! So we took one in the office instead. This is my favourite shot!

Battle@Bukit Timah

Pretty proud of this one, given the time frame, i reckon it’s not too shabby. Race is this Sunday at the Bukit Timah Mountain Biking trail, please be advised that the trail will be closed from 5am onwards.

Want to check out all the action, come join us at the start/finish line at Echo Valley. If you’re not too sure where that is, just ask one of the marshalls on that day, they will be scattered throughout the trail.

Happy Farters Day…to our favourite Farter!

It’s an old joke, this “Farters Day” thing, my dad thought it was funny, and so did we….about 15 years ago?!

Sunday dinner at My Secret Garden. We were served by a lovely gentleman called Ronnie, who made sure we were happy with our food and provided great dessert recommendations at the end of our main course. And since it was Fathers’ Day, dessert was on the house for Daddy.

Jie jie was housing a hangover from the night before, so the thought of tomato based pasta or salmon steak didn’t really cut it for her. Instead she had two servings of bread and butter pudding and a cappuccino instead.

Beach bums

Daddy wanted to take the Blursotong out for a run on Sunday, it’s been awhile since she last stretched her ~~legs~~ propellers?!

Why is it whenever we have guests on board it rains! And when it’s just us, the sun’s out in its full glory!

Pulau Hantu is under reclamation at the moment, so the only other island left to go to is the newly beached Lazarus Island, also known as Pulau Sekijang Pelepah. I say newly beached because it wasn’t there two years ago, an obvious move made by Sentosa to provide boaters from One Degree 15 and the IR with a new playground at their backyard.

The last 2 trips to Lazarus, workers were throwing sandbags into the sea, and planting coconut palms along the beach. At least there’s a bit of shade for the beach bums now. On sunday, there were at least seven boats there including the il lido boat. It seems like Lazarus is the next hip and happening southern island of Singapore!

Well whatever the plans are for Lazarus, it will never be a phi phi or phuket. With so much traffic at the ports, the waters will always remain mucky.

Date post mortem

Dinner was at a Japenese BBQ restaurant in Chijmes called Gyu Kaku.

We weren’t sure what to order, so we left it to one of the waitstaff to surprise us.

He brought out aparagus, mushrooms, garlic prawns (its the 4th year, we don’t care if we get bad breath on a date at 4 years), Wagyu beef, pork strips, chicken teriyaki, Japanese salad and rice.

You can’t have BBQ food without some BEeeer! 2 Mugs of Asahi please!

So how does it work? They bring out your food raw and seasoned, and all you have to do is chuck it on to the grill in front of you for a couple of minutes. It’s great because i can burn the steak the way i like it! If you want to try this place out, i highly recommend the wagyu beef…SO tender, juicy, and fatty.

We were so full we decided to walk round the premises, hand in hand, just chatting and joking. And that by itself, is a perfect date. 4 years on…and i still love my big grumpallofagus…very very much!

i should be nicer…

Today, a ride in a taxi really put things in perspective for me.
I called for a taxi, and told the operator i was going to holland rd. Once he had arrived, Janice asked him to drop her first then me. He went on to say that i only indicated one destination.
“Oh but it’s only down the road” we said.
No. He had to “check first”.
“But its literally 5 mins away!!!! Just down the road?!”
I guess our tone wasn’t exactly very nice, we were irate for several reasons, and were quick to snap at the taxi driver. We later apologised for being rude and he went on to tell us how he was having a bad day too. His father just passed away yesterday.
…
He made me realise how short tempered I’ve become. Sometimes you’ve just got to reflect and be mindful of your actions & behaviour, and today it took a taxi driver to put me back in my place. Just because you had a dreadful day, it doesn’t mean you can take it out on others. Furthermore, you’re not the only one who has bad days; it doesn’t hurt being just a pinch nicer, tolerant and forgiving.

Oh the pain… the PAIN!!

I worked myself too hard last week, and my body has just given up. It’s funny how your immune system plunges when you over exercise, i’m down with a nasty cough, sore throat, and headache. And my thighs! Calves! Shin! They are just screammmingg with pain everytime i walk down the stairs.

Something tells me i’m not going trail running for awhile.
