ICON Run 2

August 22, 2007

This week we managed to pull Adel and Marlene along with us for a lunch run throug the same Marina Park loop. I think its going to be a weekly wednesday thing from now on.

Today was one of those days when i felt pretty ok running, only thing bugging me was the knee…usual ITB nonsense. The only reason why i run is because it’s the easiest method to lose weight and keep fit. Come on… honestly… how many people actually LOVE running!!! I don’t buy the whole “wind blowing through my hair, appreciating nature and listening to my body” crap.

Hopefully i’ll get to see some results. Did you know, the bigger your waistline, the bigger your insurance premiums.

hmm….ok, i’ve thought about it, i’ve understand how it works…….NOW WHERE’S LUNCH!

  4. Haha Wayne! I know EXACTLY how you feel! But all I can say is… it CAN be overcome. I know the gym is tedious but you’ll be fine if you work at it. Really!!

  6. I’m so glad you admit you don’t like jogging!!! I really hate to jog. I think it’s a high impact excercise..it’s even worst when the twins are jogging too!

    I prefer cycling…stationary ones :)

  7. i’d rather get out and run rather than use the treadmill actually - feel like a hamster when i’m on it!!

  8. -ben: not fun…and those physios are just so time consuming!! THanks for all the links!

sheSays: it’s hard to START. that’s true… but once you do, and keep doing it, it gets a bit better… i say a BIT! AHhhaha

Chloe: yar.. i won’t lie about it.. it’s a painfully boring exercise compared to mountain biking, that’s why we have ipod! :)

    pris:that’s true though.. treadmills are the worse… b o r i n g

  9. Janice unfortunately that won’t help. Meniscus tear on the side and rear outter section or something. No running, soccer or any high impact stuff for the next 6 months or its on the surgery table for me.

My mom is panicing at this very moment by the word “degenerative” used by Dr Low and is pushing me to get it fixed but there is no way in hell i’m going under the knife.

Oh oh oh by the way did i mention??? He said that mountain biking should be ok since i’m on a full sus and as long as i keep myself on smooth ground…. Yeah right! Hahah

  10. I don’t know how you guys jog in this tropical heat and humidity…I would honestly collapse!

I have a question…I am looking for a job in Singapore and I saw that you worked at Ogilvy…do you by any chance have contacts there that I can get in touch with? I’m going to be in Singapore next week…

  13. C: it takes awhile to get use to. I used to jog in Perth Australia, clean crisp air, when i got back… it was torturous…. felt like my lung was filled with water.

I can give you a contact. best that you email me, wouldn’t want to give it on my blog hehehehe
