I’ve never run 10km in my life! I’ve done the 2.5km, 5km, 8.5km and more recently a 9km.

So considering i didn’t exactly train for this, I’m pretty happy with the timing. I reckon it’s a good benchmark for the next 10km run i take part in.

I was a bad girl for not preping myself the day before this run. I hardly drank water, i spent the whole of Saturday running errands, had dinner with the girlies at P.S. cafe + wine, Butterfactory for a birthday party + Asahi beer, and by the time i got home to bed was about 2am!
What was i thinking! I was about to wake up in 4 hours to get ready for this run!!

My goal was 1:30, Wayne’s goal for me was 1:20. And my chip timing turned out to be 1:07:19!!

Thanks to the triple A folks for making me feel comfortable, I definitely felt like a fish out of water. And a high5 and thanks to running partner Melody, she’s such a sweetheart. Turned out we had a similar pace, so it was great running with someone. The running outfit wasn’t planned, i swear!

I had a great time! (ok I lie) it wasn’t easy. Running is not my forte, give me two wheels and I would be happy to cycle for hours. But most importantly, I’m glad I committed to this run.
There is always apprehension and a fear of failing when you undertake a challenge for the first time. Your first bike ride, your first race, your first downhill slope, your first gym lesson. But once you make that first step, momentum carries you on to bigger things.
No I’m not going to do a marathon next, for me it’s BABY steps!

I just wanted a pretty picture to keep!
Didn’t expect it to be THIS big of a deal. Well since it has circulated through the office, and a client *facepalm*, it’s safe to post it. See it here for the full list of entries.

I just wished they published all the questions and answers, instead of picking a line out of the answers. I sound like an airhead! So for the sake of my reputation and salvaging the very last bit of brunette hair i have, here are the questions.
Describe yourself in 3 lines. Your personality / character / quirks …
Tom boyish, girly, grounded, sunshine, domesticated, stubborn, … Well… one of my personalities is, anyway.Any nickname? If yes, what is it, and how did you get it?
Blursotong…..and how did I get it…get what..oh the nickname, you mean MY nickname? Oh its blursotong… ummm… what’s the question again?
Name one celebrity or personality that you find GORGEOUS
Donald Trump
What is it about him/her that leaves that HE’S GORGEOUS/SHE’S GORGEOUS impression?
I think comb-overs are sooo sexy! What’s your gameplan to ace the 50 GORGEOUS PEOPLE contest? i.e. How are you gonna show everyone that you’re absolutely GORGEOUS?
To charm the judges with my smile, if all fails, I’ll have to resort to spiking my competitors’ drinks with extra-strength laxatives ….wahahhahahaha! Then win by default.

The International Day for the Eradication of Poverty is celebrated every year on October 17 throughout the world. It was officially recognised by the United Nations in 1992, but the first commemoration of the event took place in Paris, France in 1987. 100,000 people gathered on the Human Rights and Liberties Plaza at the Trocadéro to honour victims of poverty, hunger, violence and fear.
The text engraved in the stone reads as follows :
“Wherever men and women are condemned to live in extreme poverty, human rights are violated. To come together to ensure that these rights be respected is our solemn duty”The official theme proposed by the United Nations for 2007 is “People living in poverty as agents of change : 20th anniversary of the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty”

World Hunger Relief Week is a global movement to stop world hunger. Through awareness, volunteerism and fundraising, more than 1,000,000 employees, franchisees, and vendors of Yum! Brands, KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Long John Silver’s and A&W Restaurants in 100+ countries will join forces to bring awareness and action to this global crisis.
Hunger kills more people than AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis combined. The World Food Programme is the United Nations frontline agency in the fight against global hunger, feeding on average 90 million of the world’s poorest and most vulnerable people in 80 countries each year. WFP provides food and resources to build self-sustaining communities in the most impoverished and disadvantaged corners of the world.

OH MY GAWWWWWWWDD!! BOOKASHADE IS COMING TO SINGAPORE FOR ZOUKOUT!!!
I’ve danced to their music in Perth, got their awesome album online, bobbed to their tunes at work, and used their track as a ringtone on my phone.

Bookashade is the Berlin-based electronic duo, comprised of long time friends Arno Kammermeier and Walter Merziger. They have released two albums, “Memento” and “Movements” and the one I’m digging now is the latter.
I’ve put up my Radio.blog again on the top right, with a few of their tracks from that album.
If there were reasons to go to ZoukOut this year, it would be for the following line-up of artistes.
* Bookashade
* Armin van Buuren (my fav trance DJ, back in the days)
* Giles Peterson (i wonder who is the secret surprise performer)
* Carl Cox

Adidas Materials of the World collection 2007
I saw this at the originals store at Pacific Plaza last week, and for those who know me, i love kimono fabric. Just like my handphone pouch and wallet (which i haven’t used yet). Check out these Forum Mid M for Japan. It is made out of Japanese selvage denim and a traditional japanese print. But i think they may be men’s shoes.

When i flipped through Media magazine the other day, my heart started to palpitate. Who can guess which outfit i lust after?!

About three Sundays ago, the Pereiras (and 1 Gray) ventured to the west for some grub at the cluster of restaurants on Dempsey Hill. We were supposed to check out this new restaurant called jones the grocer, but it was not meant to be. They weren’t open yet.
So we ended up at the Prime Society.
You know, i love gimmicks, I’m a real sucker for cheesy humour and clever thingamabobs, but i think the restaurant went a bit overboard when they wrote this:
The Prime Society Districtus Commandments
1. Thou shalt not consume inferior cuts
2. Thou shalt honour thy meat with the finest wines
3. Thou shalt not share thy meat
4. Thou shalt not steal thy neighbour’s meat
5. Thou shalt not dishonour thy meat by ordering well done
6. Thou shalt gaze lovingly at meat before attacking
7. Thou shalt love and respect thy meat
8. Thou shalt not have a vegetarian friend
9. Thou shalt not be distracted by conversation
10. Thou shalt not leave room for dessert
Ok so i broke commandments 2,3,4,9,10

Lets do a rating on the different elements:
Decor: 4.5/5
Loved the high ceilings, black wood beams and the artistic light fixture above the bar
Ambience: 3/5
A bit noisy, and i wasn’t sure what the dress code was. Slippers, singlets, shorts?
Menu: 2/5
There isn’t much choice for non-steak eaters. I know it’s a steakhouse, but i would have expected more chicken, fish, and bigger salads. The Prime Ceaser salad, was just…ceaser salad. It sounded like there should be a few slices of beef or chicken on top.
Food: 2.5/5
My carrots were undercooked, Wayne’s medium was the same as my medium well.
Service: 3.5/5
Our water wasn’t topped up regularly, and waiters were not exactly sure of the ingredients in their dishes

So if you’d like to still visit the restaurant, here’s the address.

…your boyfriend sending you to work on a Sunday evening, and staying with you till the wee hours in the morning, just to keep me company. He insists on sending me home as well, just to make sure i’m home safe and sound.

It’s 1:23am and he’s now sleeping on my office’s IKEA chairs, waiting till i finish my reports. The poor poor boy must be so tired.
1hr 23mins ago, he wished me Happy Anniversary for the 4 years 4 months we’ve been together.
How can i not be love with such an amazing human being.

My previous post on the the Pulau Ubin site recce in june had photos and videos of the new MTB trail. I had to take those down because the trail wasn’t exactly ready yet, and we didn’t want people sneaking in to ruin it during development stage.
Today, i’ve been given the go ahead to put up the material. There will be a public trail day on the 21st of October, so do look out for the details on the DirTraction website when it’s up. Here we go..the new Pulau Ubin MTB trail!

Since my sister sat on my sun glasses a year ago, I haven’t found a replacement pair that fit me well.
Poor girl has been carrying the guilt for a year! Geez, Jie jie, Its only my fav-pair-of-chic-affordable-sunnies-which-i-can’t-find-anywhere-else-in-the-world.
BWahahahahhAHHA… I love winding her up! She keeps apologizing and insisting on buying me a replacement! Its okay jiejie!! really!!
Anyway, i finally found a pair in Bangkok which i liked and it was a Dolce & Gabbana with a heavy price tag. Back to the shelf it went. 2 months slong, and after approximately 30 shops later (i kid you not), I’m back to the D&G ones, but in a different style.

Say hello to my new bling.
