The Aboubakar family of Breidjing Camp, is it a refugee camp? They are eating so little vegetables and meat.

Lol…that’s why I gained so much weight when I lived in the US…seriously everything there is processed junk food. Even their salad tastes rubbery and fake…no flavor in anything. Although I do miss In-n-Out!

sigh the big expenditure difference the rich and the poor. In chinese we say: tong ren bu tong ming. Well it shows that we do not need to spend $500/wk to survive.. heh. I is fortunate.

precious: no idea, but i feel so sorry for them.

Chloe: yeah the acid from the drinks are probably burning a hole in their stomach!! that’s alot of soft drinks!

pris: not much greens there right?

Kuen: makes you feel quite bad right. I’m sure there’s something everyone can do to help.

Realise: for me it’s just seeing how little money and food some people have. I’m sure if they had more money, their kids could fed more nutritious food. I think it’s horrible that people have to go hungry, and i sure hope that last family has enough to eat. also makes me realise that i can and should spare some money to help these countries with food shortage. as Kuen said, its just a cup of coffee…

you know what, i was doing the weekly shop during the weekend and was wondering why junk food is so cheap and healthy food is so expensive! won’t it actually cost a lot more to process food and add ingredients (additives, preservatives, colourings, msg etc) to it??

kuen and angela – i feel so sad and despondant sometimes that people in other countries give and give aid to others in third world countries and their corrupt governments help themselves to aid not meant for them and leave the scraps to their citizens. this does not mean that we shouldn’t try to make the world a better place though!

Yeah Pris! Exactly my sentiment! That’s why i don’t donate until i’m sure who i am donating to and i won’t donate a big sum at one go(not that i’ve done it he)cos i know if i donate $10,000 probably only half of it goes to them and the rest are pocketed.

Joan: i love it, i love photo essays. I also posted the chernobyl one, powerful!

kuen: i’m a bit skeptical too.. why can’t charities just be straight!

FYI – Photographs by Peter Menzel and Faith D’Aluisio from the book “Hungry Planet”…This is a fascinating book that I bought for my friend who is a dietician. The family from the U.S. was surprised to realize how much fast food they consumed and started going to work out at the gym together but then found their time to prepare healthy food was even more limited! Hi guys!! I like soft drinks very much and yesterday I was reading an article on Soft Drinks are Not that Soft…Must Read… and after reading the article, the real picture comes in front of me that soft drinks are slow poison they will kill us slowly and it will cause us serious health hazards… This is very serious matter…. Now I come to know that these colorful drinks are not good for health…
Very nice article… Keep It Up…
