Feeling

a leetle bit of shopping

February 28, 2008

The airshow team all seem to have caught the bug… the itchy wallet bug. We all have the urge to go on a shopping spree after being cooped up at the show site for a long week.

So…over the weekend, I went into Adidas and bought this fantastic top! Let me tell you why I love it.
1. The material is super thin (make sure you wear a nude bra)
2. It’s long enough to cover the waistline of my low jeans (more importantly my muffin top)
3. V-neck makes me shoulders and chest area look less chunky
4. It comes in a beautiful cherry red and black
4. And it’s not an crippling blow to my bank account

In fact, I loved it so much, I bought the black one the next day! Tee hee hee…

Job satisfaction

February 27, 2008

It’s days like this which really keeps me in the industry. Friday, we had lunch at our client exhibit at the Airshow, and they have been nothing but fantastic!

They were appreciative for all the work we have been doing for them leading up to D-Day, and for the smooth execution of activities all week.

After the show was over, me and J were invited up to the Ritz suite for some champagne and nibbles overlooking the Singapore skyline. I’m actually upset that the Airshow is all over? I probably won’t see them again for another year or so!

I would do it all over again…

Reporting live from the airshow

February 18, 2008

The ICON Airshow and Boeing team are here at the Sgp Airshow and I’m actually quite happy to be here. It’s exhilarating being around the buzz and the action. I’ve been watching the Black Knights perform since Saturday, and here’s one of the many photos we have of them.

I highly recommend buying tickets to the airshow, public days are this Saturday and Sunday.

Why I’ve always loved Daft Punk.

For the music enthusiasts out there, they were using the JazzMutant Lemur on stage. Too cool.

More of their awesome videos below

Thought this was cute too

But not forgetting the Gorillaz, I love em too.

3 ft closer to my new years resolution

February 4, 2008

So just last month I was 1ft closer to my New Years Resolution. After this weekend’s ride, I’m 3ft closer to my new years resolution. :)

In all honesty, when I first started doing the drops, from the time my wheels left the plank till the landing, my mind was in a complete blank! It’s funny how your body just automatically takes over! After a couple of times, you’re mentally more in control and make the adjustment to make your landing a tiny bit more comfortable.

But when you move to the next level, you’re back to square one again. I had that moment of blankness again, now it’s a matter of getting in control again.

3 ft really didn’t seem that intimidating! But still, it took me a good 20mins of procrastinating before I attempted it. I must admit, I felt alot more confident with Wayne, William and Ian cheering me on from the landing area. Thanks boys, you’re the best!

Wayne forced me to use my full face helmet too, after much persuasion I gave in (Didn’t want to look like a poser). He made a good point though, THIS should be the time I wear the helmet, because it’s NOW in the beginning where I’ll make the most mistakes!

It was a cheap one we bought from cyclogy in camo grey. I thought it looked funny, because the mouth guard was so long it looked like a BEAK!!! Can’t complain, as long as it does the job.

Now to check on my new years resolution:

1. Attempt the 1 ft drop at Gangsa (COMPLETED)
2. Attempt the 3 ft drop at Gangsa (COMPLETED)
3. Attempt the 5 ft drop at Gangsa
4. Blog more often (I currently have 20 posts in drafts which i just haven’t got round to clearing. 20 posts!?!)
5. Spend more time with the family
6. Go to the driving range more often
7. Run more often
8. Charity engagement
9. Time management

and oh yeah how can any girl forget
10. Lose weight

This was Nik’s bike half way through our Genting ride 2 weeks ago. I think only the bikers will get this. Let’s see if you can spot it. Those who went to Genting and Wayne are not allowed to guess, coz you already know.

Monster Mash

February 1, 2008

Last week, Wayne and I were at Holland Village for some dinner. Spoilt for choice, we had no idea where to go. Then we came across a little restaurant on Lorong Mambong called “Monster Mash“.

Decor wasn’t fancy, frankly it was quite plain, but we didn’t really care, I was there for the food. It was positioned as a traditional English food restaurant. After seeing the good ol HP sauce on the table, thought to myself it can’t be too bad, at least they got the staples right. Restaurants on the left and right were filled with diners, and this little place was completely empty?!

We decided to give this place a chance!

Verdict? Not too bad. Wayne had the Macaroni and cheese and I opted for the house special Monster Sausage and Mash. It wasn’t fantastic, but it wasn’t awful either.

But it DID taste like England. I felt like I was back at my Grandma’s cottage, and she just brought out a piping hot casserole dish of mash and gravy.

Mains
Monster Sausage
Classic herby pork, medium cut, smooth sausage

Monster Mash
Plain and simple with milk, butter and seasoning

Monster Gravy
Classic brown gravy

Macaroni Cheese
Just like sweaters for goal posts and oranges at half time this is a true Brit Classic – creamy smooth and topped off with a tomato twist

Décor: 2/5
Chairs were uncomfortable, and table a tiny bit wobbly. Black and white retro posters line the walls, simple modern décor.

Ambience: 2.5/5
It’s Holland Village, so there’s always a buzz on this stretch or road. Great place to people watch, only downside is the sewage manhole at one side of the al fresco area. We were initially sitting directly above it, so after 3 mins, we moved to another table.

Food: 3/5
Comfort food for Brits.

Service: 3/5
The waitress (who possibly could have been the owner) was standing by the bar, watching british comedy while me and Wayne stood outside and waited for ages to be seated. I’m quite tolerant with service, but I have a beef with inattentive waitstaff, but that’s just me

Overall I’d give a 3/5.
