Here’s my favourite two favourite performances at the Hope for Haiti telethon concert. There are lots of ways and channels to help, here is one of many.
A wonderful rendition of Hallelujah done by Justin Timberlake and Matt Morris at the Hope for Haiti benefit concert. One of the best I’ve heard. So far I love the Jeff Buckley version, but I must say this one comes a close second to the Jason Castro one.
Hey all, just a shout out to do your part. Have joined the World Food Programme and donated some funds for their relief efforts. I’m sure you can dig into your pocket and spare some change to help Haiti.
Haiti Earthquake Devastation Leaves Millions Hungry
World Food Programme teams are already on the scene, mobilising emergency food assistance to families, and you can help us reach more families in need.
You’ve probably seen the pictures showing the devastation wrought by the severity of this earthquake. We still don’t know the full extent of the damage, but we do know that millions of people are without food.
When a disaster strikes, hunger is often the first emergency. WFP knows how to deliver food to the hungry quickly and effectively, and our teams are working non-stop to mobilise critical emergency supplies. But we need your support. You’ve already been generous in the past. Today you can be one of the first to respond.
We will help you stay updated on the latest developments. You can visit this page where we will post the latest news from the disaster zone.
It’s Movember! And although this does not apply to me, guys if you want to participate, here’s the Movember website to find out more. I think it’s a cute idea!
And although you may look hideous or wolverine-like for awhile, we girls will forgive you if its for charity
Movember (a portmanteau of the words ‘Moustache’ and ‘November’), also known as Novembeard, No-Shave November, or Noshember, is an annual month-long event involving the growing of moustaches during the month of November. The event has been claimed to have been invented in 1999 by group of Australian men from Adelaide.
Since 2004, the Movember Foundation charity has run Movember events to raise awareness and funds for men’s health issues, such as prostate cancer and depression in Australia and New Zealand. In 2007, events were launched in Ireland, Canada, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
I recently received an email from an old friend from university, and as much as I was happy to hear from her, she brought about heartbreaking news of a relative of hers.
Her husband’s niece has contracted a rare cancer called neuroblastoma, and is currently in the 4th stage and fighting hard undergoing treatment at the National University Hospital (NUH). This little girl’s name is Charmaine and I hope you can find it in your heart to help.
They need to raise 500k to fund her treatment in the USA which gives her a 40-50% chance of survival.
My days left on earth are ticking, and I feel unaccomplished and dissatisfied with the contribution I’ve made to help someone in need. A little girl shouldn’t have to go through so much pain. I’ve decided to contribute to her medical expenses, and i really really hope Charmaine gets better.
The International Day for the Eradication of Poverty is celebrated every year on October 17 throughout the world. It was officially recognised by the United Nations in 1992, but the first commemoration of the event took place in Paris, France in 1987. 100,000 people gathered on the Human Rights and Liberties Plaza at the Trocadéro to honour victims of poverty, hunger, violence and fear.
The text engraved in the stone reads as follows : “Wherever men and women are condemned to live in extreme poverty, human rights are violated. To come together to ensure that these rights be respected is our solemn duty”
The official theme proposed by the United Nations for 2007 is “People living in poverty as agents of change : 20th anniversary of the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty” courtesy of Wikipedia

World Hunger Relief Week is a global movement to stop world hunger. Through awareness, volunteerism and fundraising, more than 1,000,000 employees, franchisees, and vendors of Yum! Brands, KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Long John Silver’s and A&W Restaurants in 100+ countries will join forces to bring awareness and action to this global crisis.
Hunger kills more people than AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis combined. The World Food Programme is the United Nations frontline agency in the fight against global hunger, feeding on average 90 million of the world’s poorest and most vulnerable people in 80 countries each year. WFP provides food and resources to build self-sustaining communities in the most impoverished and disadvantaged corners of the world.

My Pink obsession started with a Pink “Miss Piggy” Adidas Hoodie i bought a few months back. Wayne bought the “It Ain’t Easy being Green” Kermit the Frog hoodie, and i bought the Miss Piggy one soon after.
And now, my bike is pink! Not entirely, just the hubs, head piece and stickers. The original Litespeed sticker was neon green, but I got it custom printed with a shocking pink. The bike has been pimped with anodized pink Chris King hubs. It feels good to be able to contribute a bit to society too, a portion of the proceeds from each sale supports breast cancer research.
You will realise the copy doesn’t exactly sound like me, that’s because Wayne had a hand in writting the story. Sorry Wayne, some of the stuff there just sounds so cheesy! But at the end of the day, the message is still there, i’ve always had a big ass, and it has come to a point where i can’t fight the fat, i’m just destined to have a big bottom…. It’s all about accepting yourself, your body and features.
Well at least i know when i go mountain biking, there’s something to break my fall ?!
