Tonight we drink to youth
And holding fast to truth
I don’t want to lose what I had as a boy
My heart still has a beat
But love is now a feat
As common as a cold day in LA
Sometimes when I’m alone, I wonder
Is there a spell that I am under
Keeping me from seeing the real thing?
Love hurts…
But sometimes it’s a good hurt
And it feels like I’m alive.
Love sings,
When it transcends the bad things.
Have a heart and try me,
’cause without love I won’t survive.
I’m fettered and abused,
I stand naked and accused
Should I surface this one man submarine?
I only want the truth
So tonight we drink to youth!
I’ll never lose what I had as a boy.
Sometimes when I’m alone I wonder
Is there a spell that I am under
Keeping me from seeing the real thing?
Love hurts…
But sometimes it’s a good hurt
And it feels like I’m alive.
Love sings,
When it transcends the bad things.
Have a heart and try me,
’cause without love I won’t survive.
What if there was no light
Nothing wrong, nothing right
What if there was no time
And no reason, or rhyme
What if you should decide
That you don’t want me there by your side
That you don’t want me there in your life
What if I got it wrong
And no poem or song
Could put right what I got wrong
Or make you feel I belong
What if you should decide
That you don’t want me there by your side
That you don’t want me there in you life
Oooooooh that’s right
Let’s take a breath, jump over the side
Oooooooh that’s right
How can you know it if you don’t even try
Oooooooh that’s right
Every step that you take
Could be your biggest mistake
It could bend or it could break
But that’s the risk that you take
What if you should decide
That you don’t want me there in your life
That you don’t want me there by your side
Oooooooh thats right
Let’s take a breath, jump over the side
Oooooooh that’s right
How can you know it when you don’t even try
Oooooooh that’s right
Oooooooh thats right
Let’s take a breath, jump over the side
Oooooooh that’s right
You know that darkness always turns into light
Oooooooh that’s right
Heard this first on Perez and I love it. You heard it here first…. or second…
The identity of the artists behind Flight Facilities remains mysterious… Rumour has it that this project is the brainchild of Jimmy 2 Sox and (possibly) U-Go-B, two Sydneysiders affiliated with Australian electro labels Bang Gang 12 inches and Modular.
Plans to work together were formed then but didn’t really take off until the following year when they met again at the secret Bang Gang Runway party. This time, real plans were formed and and they started doing some remixes for a bunch other artists such as Bag Raiders, The Lowbrows, Toecutter and Sneaky Sound System.
They are just about to release a fantastic single, “Crave You”, that will be out in a couple of months (March 26th to be exact). They are also planning to release an album called Taking Flight some time in 2010.
Here’s my favourite two favourite performances at the Hope for Haiti telethon concert. There are lots of ways and channels to help, here is one of many.
A wonderful rendition of Hallelujah done by Justin Timberlake and Matt Morris at the Hope for Haiti benefit concert. One of the best I’ve heard. So far I love the Jeff Buckley version, but I must say this one comes a close second to the Jason Castro one.
Now he has collaborated with Tommy D to form Graffiti6, who have produced the successful track Stare Into the Sun. I came across this video from The Sun newspaper online. An amazing song done acoustic called Over you, I love love love LOVE it.
And somehow, this song struck a chord. Felt a sudden pang of sadness, and buried emotions resurfaced. I wish I could hear him play live again, pure talent. Someone please hook me up with a live gig if I’m ever in the UK this year!
I don’t think it has been released, so you heard it here first!
Graffiti 6 – Over You Lay down your armour baby
No need to fight no more
Coz i have been wondering darling
We should just stop this war
but it’s alright
nothing lasts forever baby
it’s alright
now i can dance
coz I’m over you
this time is the last time
I’m over you
I can change
said I am over love
this time is the last time
always my love
no need for arguments
just walk through the door baby
sometimes I don’t know what we’re talking about
you lose yourself i lose myself baby
but its alright
nothing lasts forever baby
its alright
now I can dance
coz I’m over you
this time is the last time
I’m over you
I can change
said I am over love
this time is the last time
always always
And maybe yeah it took a long time
when you’re running away from truths you can’t find
maybe yeah it was a hard time
when love had gone
Now I’m over you
this time is the last time
I’m over you
I can change
said I am over love
this time is the last time
always always
Now I’m over you
this time is the last time
I’m over you
I can change
said I am over love
this time is the last time
always Mmmmm
Work has been hectic, so I haven’t had the time to sit down and write about Singfest. To date, it’s the best concert I’ve been to.
I’ve been listening to Jamie Scott & The Town for quite a while now, and surprisingly, he doesn’t have a huge following here in Singapore. Every time I mention his name, I get the “Who is he? What does he do?” answer. But judging by the crowd’s response on Sunday arvo, I’m sure he has scored himself a few more fans from Singapore.
I’m just so glad I got to listen to him live! … At times he sounds like a combination one of my other fav singer Ray LaMontagne and Paolo Nutini.
Nick the amazing cellist
I think the only down side was the heat! It was scorching hot, and we were all trying to keep cool with the ONE electric fan i brought. I reckon the organisers should have at least put a few industrial sized fans to cool us down. The crowd was ok, although it did get a bit rowdy when Jason Mraz came on.
Here are a couple more of my favourite photos of the night.
Panic at the Disco
One Republic
Mr A to Z
Mr Mraz, Toca and their fantastic horn section
Jason Mraz
I’m such a lucky girl. I got to meet both Jamie Scott & band and Jason Mraz & Toca Rivera at Singfest.
With Jason Mraz
With Toca
Jamie Scott & The Town
I just wished i didn’t look so disheveled. But then again after jumping around for four hours in the sun and the crowd, it was a bit hard to look fresh!
