Best Friends and Good Friends

February 3rd, 2010

I don’t like using the words “Best Friend” lightly when it comes to describing my friendships.

To date, I’ve only called 3 people my Best friend: My mum, sister and Wayne.

Wayne was and is still my best friend. Though we have broken up, there will always be a special place in my heart for him. I could talk to him days on end about anything and everything under the sun.

Then there are good friends. These are the people in my A-Team, like the Danlis, Nattles, Kimmys (Ma Girlfriends) and Jons (whom I call my best mate just coz he’s aussie).

Speaking of Jon, the last trip down to Perth was extra fabulous because I got to spend a good chunk of quality time with him.

In the past 7 years, we’ve both been through lots of life’s trials and tribulations together, and he has definitely proved his loyalty as a friend. Mate, if you were a girl, you’d definitely be one of my bridesmaids!

He is coming up sometime in April and I just can’t wait to party on up with him.

Do you have a Best friend hierarchy as well?

Halloween 2008

November 3rd, 2008

My favourite time of the year has come and gone, sometimes I wish it’d last for more than one night!

Feeling creative, the initial plan was to go in a home-made flamingo outfit, but then I spotted a fairytale costume I’ve always wanted to go as. Alice in Alice in Wonderland.

Wanted to carry an oversized biscuit that said “Eat Me!” or a bottle tag to put on my alcohol bottle which said “Drink Me!”.

I couldn’t pull off the second part of that costume, so I opted for something a bit more morbid. It is Halloween after all. I was an Alice gone wrong. I killed Mr. Rabbit.

Overall I thought my costume was great, the only thing I would have done differently is probably forgo the Wallace and Gromit sheep bag, because some people thought I was “Lil Bo Peep”!! Fail!

First stop was House@Dempsey, where most of the crew congregated.

Then we headed to Zouk which was waaay too crowded! So we left for Attica, which was also bursting at the doors. So in the end, it was supper then home.

I love watching the festively garbed adults walking the streets that night, even more so if they were in character.

Strangely, no little creatures came trick or treating this year. Oh how I wish this was the U.S. where we get to dress up our houses, and walk the streets like the New York’s Village Halloween Parade. So much fun!

I’d like to be Alice for more than a day. Think I shall wear my wig around the house tonight. I can pretend right?

I’m too old for this

September 21st, 2008

About a month ago, we decided to head over to Velvet Underground to meet some friends. Wayne met his work colleagues, while I met Dru for a couple of drinks with a few high school friends.

I had a fantastic time, but as the night grew on, I felt my energy levels drop. No vodka redbull could have saved me.

I’m seriously getting too old for this.
