World Food Programme teams are already on the scene, mobilising emergency food assistance to families, and you can help us reach more families in need.

You’ve probably seen the pictures showing the devastation wrought by the severity of this earthquake. We still don’t know the full extent of the damage, but we do know that millions of people are without food.

When a disaster strikes, hunger is often the first emergency. WFP knows how to deliver food to the hungry quickly and effectively, and our teams are working non-stop to mobilise critical emergency supplies. But we need your support. You’ve already been generous in the past. Today you can be one of the first to respond.

Movember (a portmanteau of the words ‘Moustache’ and ‘November’), also known as Novembeard, No-Shave November, or Noshember, is an annual month-long event involving the growing of moustaches during the month of November. The event has been claimed to have been invented in 1999 by group of Australian men from Adelaide.

Since 2004, the Movember Foundation charity has run Movember events to raise awareness and funds for men’s health issues, such as prostate cancer and depression in Australia and New Zealand. In 2007, events were launched in Ireland, Canada, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
